The book includes seventeen short stories. They all relate to ordinary people whom we see on the street, or walking through the aisles of a supermarket, or waiting in a doctor's office, or in a hairdresser's salon. None is extraordinary, none is a hero. Yet, in one way or another, they are faced with either an extraordinary situation or become an extraordinary being, none of which is permanent.
