The Wei-Liang Chow and Kuo-Tsai Chen Memorial Conference was proposed and held by Professor S.-S. Chern. It was devoted to memorializing those two outstanding and original mathematicians who had made significant contributions to algebraic geometry and algebraic topology, respectively.
