The animals in the forest have disturbed a peaceful day for Kalle Rabbit and Pelle Fox with the cries of a dragon coming from the east. They are afraid that the dragon will eat them up. They warn Kalle and Pelle to run away. However Kalle Rabbit who is a curious rabbit goes to investigate bringing a reluctant Pelle with him.

Kalle Rabbit and Pelle fox are craving berries. Since it is late in the autumn there are not too many berries to find. A cat hears of there dilemma and tells them about a witch who will give them food. Kalle and Pelle go to the witch's house to see if it is true. They soon find out that having free food from a witch may not be such a good idea.

Kalle Rabbit is enjoying a feast of berries, but the whining of someone distracts him and he can no longer enjoy the juicy food. Determined to put a stop to the noise, he sets out looking for the perpetrator.
