This story was inspired by our remarkable mother Leetta Scovill Lyberger who was born in 1920 and lived through all of the wars and world changes mentioned in this book. She was born in a home with oil lamps and outdoor plumbing, yet lived to see men on the moon and traveled to Europe twice. She learned to use the web in her 80's and when Parkinson's disease robbed her of her ability to write she emailed family and friends. Few generations will see as many technological changes as hers. We always admired her willingness to embrace the changes and move on. None of the characters in the story were any one person, rather they were a combination of traits based on anecdotes our mother told us through the years. Everyone has a story to tell of their life's adventures. Some people have all of their adventures in one place like trees rooted to the soil others have their adventures like seeds flying in the wind. Every life is an adventure none the less and the only sorrow at death should be if we failed to live our adventure fully.
