Recently multicomponent formulations have gained importance due to patients compliance, synergistic effects, multiple action and fast onset of action. Thus, simultaneous estimation of co-formulated drugs is an important part in the field of pharmacy as it cancels effort and time of extraction, separation and gets accurate and precise results. This book is concerned with the quantitative determination of some pregnancy safe drugs, namely, metronidazole, diiodohydroxyquin, omeprazole, tinidazole and clarithromycin in raw materials, in their mixtures and in their binary and/or tertiary pharmaceutical formulations. Among the techniques adopted for analysis are; • Spectrophotometric methods including; second derivative, third derivative, derivative ratio spectra, mean centering, isosbestic point method, ratio difference and ratio subtraction coupled with extended ratio subtraction methods. • Chromatographic methods including: HPLC and TLC-densitometric methods. • Potentiometric method; ion selective electrode method based on precipitation technique with phosphotungestic and phosphomolybdic acids.
