After graduating from the English Department at Fudan University, Shanghai, the author went on to obtain a master's degree in theological studies (cum laude) from Boston University where he also pursued a PhD in philosophy of religion for ten years. However, due to the perceived controversial nature of part of his finished dissertatio (described in The Little Princess as "the story of the stars"), he was denied the opportunity to defend it. His cosmological theory insists that the finite universe must rotate as a whole within an infinite existence of energy-a defining physical property of the
