The objective of the research is to determine how the characteristics, type of use, content of interest, frequency of use and space where mobile devices are used influence the communicational behavior, both oral expression, writing and non-verbal communication, of students at the Universidad Nacional Jorge Basadre Grohmann - Tacna, 2017. It presents a quasi-experimental design, with a sample of 60 students, distributed in two groups (experimental and control) of 30 each, to whom a Guide of Questions was applied for the collection of the data that were statistically analyzed through the ANOVA test for more than two samples; likewise, the facts observed through the triangulation of data were interpreted. The student interacts more with the smartphone, which they use to make calls, send SMS, chat on social networks, take pictures and videos, and play with applications. On the other hand, the content of interest they usually seek through their mobile device is entertainment and employment opportunities, with a prevalence of 29.76 hours per week.
