A revival of interest in morphology has taken place during recent years and the subject is seen now as a relatively autonomous subdiscipline of linguistics. Jaap van Marle is professor of language and culture. Specialist in research on American Dutch. Has published widely on morphology and its fate in language contact and language change. Geert Booij is professor of general linguistics, well-known specialist in the subdiscipline of morphology, has published widely on this topic since 1977 in books and international journals.
