The Christian Church has not always represented Jesus accurately. Jesus was the most loving, caring, and self-sacrificial person to ever walk planet earth. As the central key figure for over twenty centuries Jesus began a movement of personal relationship between God and man through His radical love. The Christian Church was launched the moment Jesus chose twelve men to follow him. Those first disciples had the privilege of being personally mentored by him. Even though they had personal interaction with Jesus on a daily basis for just over three years they often missed what he was teaching. One of them, "Judas" missed it all together. Today in North America the name of Jesus and the church He initiated is known for many things. Some know the church as a tremendous help and great source of love. Some have experienced the greatest pain they have ever gone through. Growing up in the Christian Church and being a Pastor for the past twenty-two years I first want to say how grateful I am for all Jesus and His church has done for me. I am one hundred percent for the Christian Church. With that said, we must own up to the many ways we have fallen short, hurt people, and not accurately reflected who Jesus truly is. We have hurt many people and we owe them a very sincere, heartfelt apology. We're Sorry has two main objectives. First: We're Sorry is for all those who have been wounded by the church. We are very sorry. Second: We're Sorry is to help the church understand how we are perceived and where we can change. I hope and pray We're Sorry begins a reconciliation revolution in the hearts of the millions of people who have been wounded by the Christian Church. In addition I hope and pray We're Sorry helps us in the Church recognize our faults and brings us to a place of radical repentance and lasting change.
