Brian Berry is Lloyd Viel Berkner Regental Professor and Professor of Political Economy at the University of Texas at Dallas. The author of more than 500 books and articles, he is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a fellow of the British Academy and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and received the Victoria Medal from the Royal Geographical Society in 1988. In 1999 he become the first geographer to serve as a member of the Council of the National Academy of Sciences.
James Wheeler is Professor and Merle Punty Chair of Geography at the University of Georgia. He is the author and editor of numerous books and articles. He is co-editor of the journal Urban Geography and editor of the Southeastern Geographer.
