Jay Twomey straddles the fields of biblical studies and literary studies with enviable ease. Jay Twomey is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Cincinnati. His specialization is in the reception of the Bible in literature and critical theory.

The New Testament letters to Timothy and Titus, known collectively as the Pastoral Epistles, have had a subtle but profound effect upon Christian culture. In these letters the work and thought of the historical Paul is extended for the Church, its ministers and its society, in the post–Apostolic age.
