Susan Folkman is an American psychologist and Emerita Professor of Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco. She is known for her work in cognitive psychology on stress & coping, particularly meaning-based coping in the context of HIV disease & other chronic illness, especially on issues having to do with caregiving & bereavement.
