The events of September 11th have brought attention to the plague of terrorism worldwide. This book utilizes the frame theory to examine how Egyptian movies have dealt with this issue. The book shades light on questions such as: Have the films presented the terrorists as irrational human beings or people with a cause? Were they portrayed to be driven by experiences of injustice or out of their longing for power? To clarify such aspects, in-depth interviews have been conducted with ten film critics and a content analysis was carried out on all the films produced between 1990-2000, which dealt with terrorism. Findings show that the cinematic level of most of the movies is very high. Whereas all the movies condemned terrorist actions, each film presented those who exert these actions differently.
