This book, RELIGION$, is Carl Jones Sr.'s attempt to wrap my mind around the world's view of religion and maybe help others to see how the major world's religions have turned a selfless, ultra moral human into a stooge to be used to collect money and subjugate humanity. It seems that today Jesus has been co-opted by people who wish to make others believe that Jesus has fantastic powers. That it is his job to provide not only spiritual but material wealth to those who seek and accept him. They use the awe-inspiring power of the Jesus they've invented to gain material wealth for themselves. This has, sadly, turned today's churches into nothing more than money changers, out to desperately get a quick buck so they can sustain themselves through any means necessary. Jesus certainly didn't have a love affair with the owners of the churches then. In Matthew 21:12, it says, "Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves." Are we to ignore this most clear passage about the interconnectedness of commerce and religion? And, if in someway, the real Jesus were able to actually return now, and threatened to take away the wealth and power of the churches, the churches would do what they had to do to protect their domain, just like the churches did in ancient times.
