Research with respect to corrosion studies of aluminium alloys is an important field with respect to automobile, aircraft and marine engineering fields. The book gives the complete details on the manufacture and characterization aluminium 6061 alloy composite materials reinforced with red mud particulates obtained from aluminium manufacturing industry. These composite materials are manufactured by liquid melt metallurgy technique using vortex method. Composite materials after manufacture are subjected to machining and tested for various properties with respect to six types of corrosion and four types of mechanical behaviour. The results obtained for the studies are of acceptable nature such that the corrosion resistance increases with increase in reinforcement content. Mechanical properties like ultimate tensile strength, compression strength, hardness and percentage elongation show increased values with respect to increase in reinforcement content. Therefore it has been concluded that composite materials are more suitable for applications in place metals and alloys.
