Ceramic engineering is the science and technology of creating objects from inorganic, non-metallic materials. This is done either by the action of heat, or at lower temperatures using precipitation reactions from high-purity chemical solutions. "Ceramic Engineering" is the one of the most important branch of engineering that deals with the creation of objects from inorganic & non-metallic materials. Thus, Ceramic Engineering includes purification of raw materials, production of chemical compounds and complete study of their structures. Ceramics are generally made by taking mixtures of clay, earthen elements, powders, and water and shaping them into desired forms. Once the ceramic has been shaped, it is fired in a high temperature oven known as a kiln. Often, ceramics are covered in decorative, waterproof, paint-like substances known as glazes.
