Independent work is very effective in developing the student's independent or autonomous cognitive activity. It is through him that the student reaches a higher level of scientific deepening and develops general and professional skills that teaching cannot give him in a finished way. In accordance with this, the present study deals with the methodological preparation of the teacher in the direction of independent work. It is directed with the system of objectives: Identify the insufficiencies presented by the professors of the Philosophy-History Discipline of the Department of General Training in their preparation for the direction of independent work; Prepare a proposal based on methodological actions and Assess the proposed methodological actions by specialists. The research responds to the qualitative paradigm, being structured in three stages: diagnosis, design of workshops and assessment through the criteria of specialists.
