Within the tandem elements, an important role is played by the crown gears of the sugar cane mills. They are large gears whose main function is to transmit the movement and power from the upper crown, which is driven directly through a coupling shaft, to the bagging and cane hammers, guaranteeing the relative position of the three hammers during operation. The power transmission must be carried out with high reliability, since the possibility of failure-free operation of the entire sugar mill depends to a great extent on it, especially considering that the power values can reach up to 600 kW in conditions of high overload due to foreign elements in the mill. A detailed analysis of the geometry, kinematics and dynamics of these machine elements is presented in this work.
