Her flight is long and extremely trechorous. The river gorge possesses a spirit that takes invasions of its privacy with murderous intent. Jillianne defears the gorge and a long, petriying night lost in a hidden cavern. The cavern's entrance is concealed by storage shelves in an underground root cellar. What she discovers in that cavern instills in her the courage to slay her attacker, and to do so in the most heinous manner she can contrive. While investigating the young couple's disappearance, Hershel, Roberto's older brother is swept into the gorge. The girl saves him from certain death. Later, she employs female wiles to enlist the aid of Hershel as a coconspirator in her venomous plot. Hershel is a war veteran. He attempts to pursuade Jillianne that the brand of reprisal she seeks will graduallu poison her id, and devour her alive. Love grows from passion, gratitude, desparation, and a force neither can truly understand, but is Hershel's love for Jillianne strong enough to eradicate her need for such dark revenge?
