This book is based on various aspects using steel slag (industrial by- product from steel industry) as an effective construction material in the field of highway pavement layer constructions. This study focus on utilization of steel slag effectively and disposed of properly with a reduction in environmental impact as well as minimize the demand for natural construction materials. Steel slag was mechanically stabilized with locally available silty soil and chemically stabilized using ordinary Portland cement amorphous nano silica. From the experimental analyses, it was observed that stabilized mixes satisfied the material specifications for the construction of pavement layers. It was also observed that steel slag-soil mixes as a potential material for highway embankment construction. A numerical model study of embankment made up of steel slag-soil mix reinforced with Geoform, EPGM, and geotextile was carried out using FEM based Plaxis 3D and comparison study was performed based on limit equilibrium method using genetic algorithm. This study concluded that embankment model using both limit equilibrium method finite element method following the the same pattern of results.
