Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has generated enormous interest in research these years. Sensor nodes are mobile devices with processing power and minimal energy resources. These nodes are able to acquire and transmit environmental data to the processing unit. For a good organization of Sensor Network nodes, real-time operation of a secure network and efficient use of energy resources of sensor nodes, it is necessary to think about secure and energy-efficient communication protocols. As a matter of fact, wireless sensor networks are comprised of hundreds of thousands of autonomous devices. These sensors are used to control a particular environment through the mechanism of monitoring information and routing it to the base station (BS). The newly approved routing protocols are intended to establish a reliable and secure network with efficient energy management. In this context, several routing techniques have been developed and improved to solve the problems of WSNs in terms of energy and security. Among these techniques, we find clustering which makes networks safer and more efficient.
