When Gloucester doctor, Reuben Sawyer wins his dream house at an auction he has no idea that what he has taken on, is, in reality, closer to a deal with the devil. The manor house is haunted by a former owner named, Arthur DeMorte - a murderer and a thief.
Reuben sets to work restoring the old place but in doing so, disturbs a slew of restless spirits. One, in particular, is the spirit of Arthur DeMorte who still considers the manor, his own.
Reuben calls in, Aurora Skye, a psychic medium who tries to cleanse the manor of its unwelcome spirits but soon learns that it is not that simple. Later, Reuben agrees to let the manor be featured, over Halloween weekend, in a live televised ghost hunt, to help pay for the renovations. The ghost hunt is hosted by a former high-profile TV 'Star', a hedonistic loose cannon of a man with scant respect for Aurora's sage advice on spirit protection. As the 'star' is nearly always high, he, therefore, is easy to manipulate, something Arthur DeMorte makes the most of.
Later, Aurora undergoes a regression in the hope of trying to reunite two of the innocent spirits - two young lovers, lost in time, and then to, hopefully, cast DeMorte's resistant spirit into the light. At least, that was the plan. Aurora undergoes a regression but becomes trapped in 1643 leaving Reuben no choice other than to also be sent back in time, in a final desperate attempt to bring Aurora safely back, before Arthur DeMorte gets his hands on either of them.
