Dr. Mamata Mohapatra is currently working as principal scientist at CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar. She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry and has post-doctoral experience from the University of Waterloo, Canada. She joined at Hydro & Electrometallurgy department, CSIR-IMMT in 2006 as Junior Scientist and has been undertaking research independently on interdisciplinary field of research in aqueous processing of ores and secondaries, synthesis and surface modification of transition metal oxide/ oxalate and carbonate materials for environment and energy application. She has several contributory well-cited publications in international peer review journals in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, Utkal University (India), KIIT, Murdoch University (Australia), and WATLab (Canada). She has successfully supervised several Ph.D./M.Tech./M.Sc. students.

Dr. Balamati Choudhury is Principal Scientist at Centre for Electromagnetics of CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore, India. She obtained her M.Tech. degree from National Institute of Science and Technology, India and Ph.D. degree in Microwave Engineering from Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), India in 2013. Her active areas of research and teaching interests are in the domain of soft computing techniques in electromagnetic design and optimization, computational electromagnetics for aerospace applications, metamaterial design applications, RF and microwaves. She was recipient of ICCCES/Outstanding Young Investigator Award in 2016-2017 for her contributions in Metamaterial Science. She was also the recipient of the CSIR-NAL Young Scientist Award in 2013-2014 for her contribution in the area of Computational Electromagnetics for Aerospace Applications. Dr. Balamati has authored or co-authored over 190 scientific research papers and technical reports, besides three books, five Springer Briefs and three book chapters.

Prof. Suddhasatwa Basu is presently Director, CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar and also on lien Professor of Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore in 1993 and worked as a postdoctoral fellow and as a visiting faculty at University of Alberta, Canada. His broad research interests are in the area of interfacial and electrochemical engineering and their application in hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology. He is Fellow of National Academy of Science of India, Indian Chemical Society and Institute of Engineers and Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, UK. He is on the editorial board of many international journals.

This book provides a comprehensive overview of recent novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) infection and discusses developments in the field of nanoparticle/inorganic/organic materials development for antiviral application, therapeutic applications, PPE kit formulations and inclusion of simulated data. The contents focus on measures to keep the infections in check, materials aspects for detection and monitoring, AI modeling for prediction of spread of the virus, among others. This book will be a useful reference for researchers, scientists and policy makers alike.
