The determinants of the option of the chit subscribers for the chit funds in the place of bank deposits and post office recurring deposits etc. The determinants which the sample respondents considered to opt for chit funds include flexible way to save, contractual way to save, possibility to commit for future savings, unique source of credit, simple procedures, subscription amount based on dividend, dual options for savings and borrowings.
