In Becoming Whole: Building Natural Immunity in the Body and Soul, the message is on preserving the sanctity of life by deliberate care for the body and spirit. The first half of the book is concerned with holistic health care, calling for a need to consider individuals' unique bodies and souls and work with nature by building the immune system through nutrition and healthy lifestyles, and especially on the necessity of reconsidering the dangerous practice of vaccination. My argument's premise is on the sanctity of life: not using vaccines cultured with aborted fetal stem cells (as over 21 current vaccines are), and not vaccinating because toxic preservatives and harmful adjuvants poison the body. Many of us are unaware that vaccines were introduced after diseases were on the decline and have never lessened illness, ever. In fact, since the beginning of vaccination in the 1900s, doctors, scientists, parents, and care-takers have warned that vaccines render us susceptible to food allergies and eczema, diseases they are supposed to prevent, and compromise one's overall-health in numerous ways including cancer and infertility. Vaccination is especially dangerous in vulnerable populations such as children and the ill with immature and or weak immune systems, and even those who are healthy and vaccinated shed viruses after vaccination. Society is healthier when vaccine free. Healthy societies have clean water and food and systems of sanitation so that people are not living in filth. And yet, oftentimes, we offer third-world countries vaccines (which we buy from China with horribly lax safety checks) and do not offer them the true key to wellness. Throughout history-from the smallpox vaccine in the 1800s, to the polio vaccines in the 1950s, to all other vaccines-vaccination has contributed to increase in diseases, infections, and viruses, as well as neurologic and immune disorders. There is an astronomical increase in vaccines, and this profits pharmaceutical companies. Government and institutions of higher learning are often granted large sums of funding from pharmaceutical companies to ensure that law and research is in their favor. In the 1980s, 20 vaccines were recommended for children, and today, 2016, there are 73 recommended vaccinations by the time one is 18. By 2025, there are plans for 300 vaccines, and, if we allow it, these will be mandated. Some argue this is a return to the Dark Ages. Becoming Whole: Building Natural Immunity in the Body and Soul is a book with a message of hope. Good ultimately triumphs, and life continues on. In the second portion of the book, I reflect on faith in God and experiences in the body. Prayer is my focus here, and it is living, interactive, life-giving and life-sustaining. Prayer reflects one's relationship with God, and by prayer a person more deeply realizes herself and the meaning of life. Today, practices such as secular meditation differ from prayer, and I discuss and illustrate with real-life stories how seeking God and seeking self go together powerfully, revealing more of our character than any meditation outside of God could enable. At the end, illness and death as one's saving road reflects upon the fact that wellness and illness can both develop personhood, but only through the common touchstone of the sanctity of life.
