Karl McCreight was born in Seattle, Washington, USA in 1965. When he was seven months old, the family moved to England, two years later to Sweden, then back to England. Karl began kindergarten in Belgium. He started school in Wedel-Holstein, Germany and finally graduated, with a German Abitur, in Hofheim am Taunus, Hessen, Germany. While in his teens, Karl took a job on a freighter and sailed around the Mediterranean Sea. He landed in a number of harbors in Europe, Arabia, Israel and other parts of North Africa. Karl trained as a piano builder at the Seiler Piano Company in Kitzingen, Germany. He worked in Austria, Switzerland, and later as a self-employed piano builder in Germany. In 2001, Karl enrolled in a private music college in Frankfurt, Germany and graduated in 2005. He passed a state examination as a state certified professional musician and music pedagogue. In addition to teaching music, Karl plays the flute, piano, guitar, and the didgeridoo, an aboriginal Australian instrument that he builds himself, in several music groups. Another major interest of his is art. He created his own style and experiments with materials. For example, rather than using expensive granite powder in lacquer, he found that his own mixture of acrylic and sand givers the same crystalline reflective effect. Karl has had a number of successful exhibitions in Germany.
