That is my rule of thumb. After investigating ghost experiences for nearly thirty years, I realised that the finely polished stories told by storytellers and "ghost walkers" were exactly that - polished. In polishing stories we lose the personality of the haunted and indeed the haunter itself, that's why in my books, research papers and articles, I always maintain the original testaments and facts.
